Actually the gunslinger aches when succeeding because when you get out, you know you have to get back in, and so you know the pain will be coming.

Yes you sound like a man in an elevator that begins to fall and stops at the floor below. Everyone starts yelling get off, get off it's going to fall further. "One man standing in the back yells, it's better to complete the fall" Who would that be. Not the gunslinger I'm sure.
