Windows\Recent ...

No. Windows\Recent does contain, as you have discovered, things you have done recently. It appears the APPLOG stuff is a Win98 thing.

You said you deleted the contents of \Windows\Recent. I'm getting the impression from your posts that you are uncomfortable leaving too many clues behind when you're working on your computer. If this is the case, you may wish to install Tweak-UI, a utility from Microsoft, which will automatically remove these tell-tale traces from your system. Tweak-UI comes on the Win98 CD, but I think it can also be downloaded. One tab, called 'Paranoia', gives you the option of 'covering your tracks' in about a dozen different places. It does a load of other things too. Maybe worth a look.

Cheers, PW.
