we are a constitutional republic now, not a textbook democracy. Haven't you even studied the deevolution? What!!!??? Since when has the US EVER been a democracy?? The US has ALWAYS been a representative republic. The founding fathers did not believe in democracy, Ken. They tried it with the Articles of Conferation and found it inadequate. Join and support the NRA, Ken. The 2nd amendment is what keeps us from the authoritarian nightmare that you fear. And it is the only thing that maintains the status of all of the other 9 amendments.
