Joe Sobran had a column a while back in which he put forward the idea that we should grab a kid at random and tell him, look son, you're gonna be our next leader so start studying.

Reinstating the draft is a tough call. Instinctively I am opposed to conscription, but at the same time I'm getting a little tired of these 21 year old spoiled brats. A lesson in what duty and honor are about would do them (and us) some good.
