I agree - I can't remember what happened at the Treasury/or/and/IMF auctions in the late 70s, i.e. what pattern evolved - I do remember, however, that the auctions were massively oversubscribed at the market price, and the auctions had the opposite effect to what was intended. What I can't remember was whether the first auction had a similar effect to the first B. of E. one. d
