If the architecture they were talking about is the memory, then it's a good sign for rambus, if the archictecture they were referring to is massively parallel, then rambus may not have done much.

Nonetheless, I think it does indicate that bandwidth increasing technologies like Rambus, VC DRAM, and DDR DRAM will be most immediately useful in videogames and videocards.

Rambus samples have been out there for a long time. The 300/600 parts were rejected by the PC makers for, according to the rumors that are the only information available, inadequate performance. I doubt that the 33% speed increase has made enough of a difference to justify rambus use in PCs now that the competing technologies of VC DRAM and DDR DRAM have had time to mature and will be available in the market in roughly the same time frame as rambus.
