from what i know buffett uses leverage when the market allows borrowing at fair rates.....usu. when others dont want $$$$

buffett has had returns of 31% per yr....1956 to 1996....and bk value increased at 23%.......so he increased his financial assets by some borrowed money....but imho the returns speak for themselves.....it wasnt like he was playing options or futures.....he bought the pref. conv or stock outright.......
