Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord, He hath trampled out a vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored, He will loose the fateful lightening of his terrible swift sword, His truth is marching on....I grew up in the sort of working class/ lower middle class neighborhood in Maryland where we debated whether or not we would have been Unionists or Rebels, and some parents boasted of relatives in high positions in the Klan. The ones who were pro- South never made a big case for "States Rights". It was all about race, and I believe that is how it was passed down to them.....
