Wow. I didn't expect such a strong response. Perhaps because I haven't buried anyone. I went to a lot of funerals as a child being bought up in a small town. (Once, I snuck back and touched the lips of the dead person. Funny feeling...<g>) I haven't been to one now for 25 years or so. I don't understand the guilt and weak-minded association you refer to. Something has to be done with a person's body when they die. People also want to see the person in the flesh before they are buried (or start rotting). I see the funeral homes as providing a service. Now, they may take advantage of some people in a time of grief. If this is what constitutes your anger, I can understand. Otherwise, I don't know of any business that doesn't try to separate you from your money...
