Dear Marvin, the MAJC official announcement will be August 16. We should learn more at that time.

Scott McNealy is mentioned in today's NYTimes.

Sun will handling GM's Web sites. Sun will get GM connected to the web.

"Mr. McNealy...sees dollar signs when he thinks of bringing computers to cars, because ever-longer commutes are making for a captive audience. Just think of all the "dashboard hours per day" that G.M. captures, said Mr. McNealy.

"I often think of the automobile as nothing more than a Java browser with tires," he said. That's because all the major auto companies through the Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration, have selected the Java computer language, "rather than going with Microsoft and putting control-alt-delete buttons on every dashboard," Mr. McNealy added with a grin."

Excerpt by ROBYN MEREDITY from The New York Times, Sunday, August 15, 1999, BU2.

Marvin, frankly, I don't understand the significance of JAVA. That's my fault! Butt it's here! It is an established language, like C. Every day, more and more people team up with JAVA.

If I want to learn about JAVA, I should read Sun's Annual Report and look at their home page.(At least)

We should learn quite a bit about MAJC on August 16.

Best wishes,

Mephisto
