Joe, You stand corrected, it is spelt tread for a reason, to make fun of geeks making up their own language. Check out the intro to Techride, there is no mention of threads there but a new tread (it is spelt the same way there too).
The reason is the word "thread" is a geek term, we are not using a needle and thread here, we are leaving tracks, thus the correct term is tread not thread.
Computer geeks often try to be cute with words like "thread" but what they really do is prove (again) they are geeks, only a geek would call a board a thread and not a board. So unless you are a geek there is no such thing as a thread (look it up in an English dictionary), it is tread, where you leave tracks.
Damn Joe does this mean the geeks have brain washed you? Tread is correct, thread is for sewing. True it is fun to humor geeks but to make up their own language is a bit much.
Help for geeks, it is called English:
Thread 1) a very fine cord composed of strands of spun silk, cotton, etc. USED IN SEWING. etc.....................
I could go on but what is the point, we walk (post) here, we leave our tracks, we tread here, only a geek can't see that. 909S BLUE
