It could be said that as a wife, she knew her husband's mind and was better suited than anyone else to carry out any agenda he had. Usually when a spouse is elected or selected to complete the term of a husband/wife that has died in office, it is with the tacit agreement that she/he toe the party line and not make waves. At least Mary Bono meets the residency requirement, which is more than a certain New Yorker wannabe can claim.
