LRR, re: "uzify"
I'm unfamiliar with the legend. With this many posts on the thread, those of us who are more or less newbies are at a disadvantage. Is there a post summarizing the legend? If not it might be helpful, or at least a post with links to legend posts.
I really should have known better. From the little bit of "sampling" I get to do of this thread I should have realized no real violence was pretended or intended. But it was said with a straight face AND I am overly sensitive to expressions of physical violence, that when I saw the word I went into auto-pilot-over-reaction-mode.
I don't like the term and won't ever use it or anything like it, but that's my personal preference, not a judgement against anyone else.
As I said before on this thread:
"As for war movies...I once witnessed, up close and personal, some very violent behavior. I missed going to Viet Nam by the luck of the draw -- I'd have never made it anyway -- all my respect goes to those who have fought for their country! I would not have been able to serve that way.
Anyway, back to the story, I witnessed man's inhumanity to man by way of physical violence in person and for real. For a long time it was not possible for me to watch things like the fight scenes in the Rocky movies, even though I knew what I was watching was staged. I felt what I was watching. "

I realize I am overly sensitive in this area, so I make allowances for others -- my problem not anyone else's. Except when I over react.
Thanks for listening!
