Grayhairs, we have a gas flare!!!!

I just received a call from Bakersfield. They are drilling in the second sand and we have a 100 foot gas flare. This time the flare is coming from the flare stack and not the rig-floor!!!

I understand that they are flaring the gas in order to clean up the wellbore. They encountered another zone of high porosity & permeability upon entering the second sand that caused them to lose some of the mud column and stop drilling temporarily.

This is fabulous news, since they have drilled right through the approximately 200' thick uppermost Temblor sand and the flare shows no sign of water.

Tomorrow, we will rock'n'roll.
