Good find Cheryl...

Now if they would extend that database to service international concerns, it would be super.

A real shame about TAVA, after all of our hopes that the company would become a major player in the systems integration market.

However, TAVA was always interested in using that database as a means of getting their foot in the door to more lucrative contracts.

Btw, it appears that only the PlantY2K methodology toolkit is being offered for free and a special one-time free compliance check through the TAVA database. Additional checks will likely come with a price tag.

But fortunately, I think the statistics will back up the fact that companies grossing under $1 million annually are not overly reliant upon automated manufacturing systems to any large degree. Most of these companies are likely limited to producing a couple of specialty items, thus not as inundated with layer upon layer of automated systems.

Not to say that they aren't any exceptions to this "rule", but seems to explain the relative lack of participation by small business.

Small businesses, in general, don't operate on the profit margins that permit them to buy these expensive automated systems.

I'd be curious to know if you have run across any references that might highlight the small business sector.

Regards,

Ron
