I2O support in Linux 2.4 release techweb.com Lead developer Linus Torvalds said he hopes to see version 2.4 of the open-source operating system released by January. Improvements will include symmetric multiprocessing scalability, I2O support for I/O devices and EISA plug-and-play. It will also provide support for PCMCIA devices, popular in notebook computers.
