With today's announcement, it looks like the writing is on the wall for this once great Canadian retailer. It's very sad to see it all end like this. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, so seeing the past disappear is not a pleasant thing. In the end though, Eaton's has no one to blame but itself for this fiasco. The company was run by family members for too long and they didn't have the qualification, nor the ambition to manage a retail company in a rapidly evolving world.
