Kim, I agree that mm's usually just show 100 on l2 and refresh as much as they want. I also agree that some larger prints are broken up sometimes when possible. But prints being broken up on size is the exception not the norm. If I buy 50,000 shares they may break it up but not into 250 shares parcels. Too much a pain in the arse.
