My comments are only based on some conversations with a highly respected opthalmic surgeon. He and his colleagues are not impressed with Intacts.

I agree that surgeons originally chose the field for hands-on practice, but I bet that if you ask a surgeon to choose between a computer-controlled procedure that takes 10 minutes and a manual procedure that takes more effort and time, they'll choose the computer. They also chose the field to maximize their earnings.

Personally I don't feel comfortable with either procedure. Maybe when those new implantable contacts come out I'll give that a whirl. Do you know of any public companies involved with those?
