Hi Croc, yes, it is surprising how the situation in Iraq is just ignored now.

I had a lovely time in Canada, by the way. Every time a waiter or waitress brought me the check at a restaurant, they'd say, "how about that exchange rate?" and I'd say, well, the taxes make up for it. 15% sales tax! At least I can file for a refund on the tax on the rooms.

Canadians are so polite! And Canada is so clean, at least there is so little trash. I was surprised at the pollution, however, I think the U.S. must be doing a better job controlling air and water pollution. I read that Sydney has a terrible toxic waste problem, which doesn't surprise me, the smell was something. And I read about raw sewage being discharged into the harbors in Halifax and Lunenberg. I told my husband he should look for a job there, he specializes in water purification. We think we might like to retire to Nova Scotia, maybe.
