I've always wanted to be an astronaut, but when I was growing up, girls had just about three choices, teacher, nurse, or secretary. Thank heavens things have changed. I can remember when the first space shot went up, and I said that I would love to be on it. People laughed at me and said, basically, that was "man's work". I guess for the first few years it really was, as men are much stronger than most women, and strength was needed. But now I would be happy to just go along for the ride as a passenger. : >) |
