Hi Jeff. Looks like Dale is having too much fun getting reacquainted with the Vaterland for him to post today. C'mon Dale, no vacation benies for you here. Get back to work. Actually, just missing your pearls of wit and wisdom.

CONV was damned by faint praise by its lead underwriter, GS when the quiet period ended. I was tempted to buy Fri. before the close. Glad I didn't. HOOV came through though. Funny thing. In looking at CONV's fundies, it appears to be a promising company.

KIDE went up another 12 pts today. It ought to be a great near term short. I don't usually short, and, as I have posted here, the Pokeman phenom is a looong way from running out of steam IMO. But, KIDE has gone up almost 70% in 4 trading days from a point that was already pretty pricey. Still, I some that were rattling their short sabers (Dale, I wonder if there is an Alliteration Anonymous org. for hopeless addicts like me) Fri. on the Yahoo message board were skewered themselves today.

ISLD continued its interesting price/vol pattern of the past several days--early gain, a fall off and then a strong finish on a few big buys (That one doesn't count Dale--too tiny--oops. Or am I like an alcoholic for whom even a sip of wine is dangerous?). It may be wishful thinking on my part since ISLD is my only LT (for me) holding, because it looks promising to me too, but it appears that some relatively heavy hitters are accumulating on the dips. It's gone up 50% since its low last week. Although I haven't seen any specific news leading to the spurt exc. the opening of the Hong Kong Center, I can't help but wonder if the failure of WCOM's net last week might have something to do with the interest in private nets like ISLD's. The big kid on the block, EXDS, didn't have the same pop, but it may be considered to be already more fully priced.

An interesting co. I stumbled onto today. ANCR, a Fibre Channel network equip. co.,

biz.yahoo.com

Thoughts anyone on the above?

Jim
