Why do you find this so far fetched?.....the media has already strongly hinted at the same thing that Steve is suggesting.

Besides, your take of the Gateway deal does not make sense logically. Why would Gateway lock themselves into one chip company, knowing that its competitor is coming out with a faster chip. To date, Dell has not made such a commitment even though they are one of intc's best customers.....and I would have expected them to do so before Gateway.

Even with AMD's past performance record, I would be surprised if Gateway made such a commitment to intc without getting something in return. JMHO.
