RCN, my condolences on having the worst customer service relationship I have ever encountered. Just one man's story....
Specifically, some asshole bookkeeper, "Michael," at Interport, killed my account today, with NO notice "for unpaid services" "amounting to $50."
RCN --- No Empire Lasts Forever --- Interport used to be the best ISP in New York if not the world. Of course, none of the founders who made it so are still on board. My (former) account, orbita, will show many credits (usually exceeding my usage) for bringing customers to Interport. I believe I was one of Interport's first (and most loyal customers -- in 1994.
I am looking at a cancelled check --- for exactly $50 --- from mid-July. Its only anomaly is that this particular payment happened to lack the memo "username orbita" ... Interport apparently was happy to cash the check but too lazy to look at the name on it to figure out where to credit the payment,,, then kill one of its most longstanding accounts without a single mail or call, then demand "cash" to reactivate it.
It will be a cold day in hell.
