(August 16, 1999) Systems integrators should be called the hardest working people in television. They're in charge of planning, designing, building, preparing, installing, testing, and integrating broadcast stations to digital, all while working within a set budget. They're the enablers. The ones without whom this transition to DTV would never happen.

Over the past 10 years, several top equipment manufacturers have gotten into the integration game. MPEG compression experts DiviCom (Milpitas, CA), Panasonic, and Sony all have separate entities that provide systems integration for customers.
