The gas leak made the FT. 2 interesting points. One, Anaconda was down 8c before it was halted, before the announcement, and now there saying that the H2S vented out of the refinery at the time of a power failure.

Excuse me, but what kind of engineering design is set up to allow RELEASE OF LETHAL GASES INTO THE ATMOSPHERE in the setting of a power failure? Remeber boys, H2S has a molecular weight of 34.08 and is heavier than air. Venting it to the outside of your building would have the unintended consequence of killing everyone around the building.

If the FT has it wrong, and the gases built up in the control room secondary to a failure of a venting system, agaon what kind of engineering allows that rapid of a buildup of gases.

Any chance Div. of Minerals has the same questions I have?

Aurum seems to be our technical expert. Maybe he can give us some insight.
