Hien,

The key point to understand here is that Ipsilon *IS* where Cisco wants to be. Ipsilon's technology is based on their IP switching software, just as Cisco's crown jewels are based on their Internetwork Operating System (IOS). IP switching avoids the complexity of ATM protocols, and IP can be used as a tunnel or bridge for other protocols to run over.

This will allow Ipsilon to rapidly deploy and license their software in a variety of switching solutions (ATM, Ethernet, and yes, ISDN -- sorry, Ascend). If you notice, Ipsilon has proven the ability to adapt their software by offering a product running in a Pentium-based PCI chassis with an ATM NIC and up to 3 additional PCI network cards (which could be FDDI, Ethernet, etc.)

Now's the time to plead and beg with your broker to get in on Ipsilon before they go public.
