I believe there are physical "laws" at work, real science to be discovered that will change the entire direction of Man's future.

Mystics and metaphysicians cannot gain real applicable knowledge from their convoluted endeavors. If such were the case, for instance, in the thousands of years that various cultures have toyed with the psuedo-science of astrology it would have been defined, refined, quantified and shown that it was either real or a fallacy. If real, why it is real, how it is real, how to replicate it at will, what are the real forces behind it, and how to create a technology based upon it (which, if it really exists could be done). None of that has happened because the people who are "involved" with astrology both as "believers" and promoters approach it with mysticism.

Metaphysicians and average people certainly believed in lightning during the ages, but what good was that until it could be measured, quantified and replicated? Understanding what lightning was lead to our understanding of electrical energy and literally changed the entire course of human history.

For example, I think ghosts are not "supernatural" but are natural events in space-time. Understanding the phenomena could enable us to truly begin to understand the nature of space-time and bend it to our will. Gawking at a ghostly event and attaching mumbo-jumbo to it or otherworldliness assumptions does nothing to get a handle on the true phenomena of what are called "ghosts."

Believing in something is almost valueless because it does not gain hard data or a true knowledge of the subject at hand. People can believe in ghosts, but so what? That belief is immaterial. People can believe in the Loch Ness Monster, but until a scientific team can capture and quantify it, identify it as a new species or a very old one that survived extinction, so what? It does not move Man's knowledge ahead one iota.

I am strongly of the opinion that much that is considered "occult" today is really undiscovered scientific knowledge and new, revolutionary knowledge is just waiting to be discovered by those of us bold enough to put aside preconceived notions and boldly face the unknown.
