Yes I agree with all you said. On an interesting side note I have been watching this stock Ariba since it is touted as a sort of next generation software company and (oddly) trades a little like jnpr, another stock I own.

When I looked into potential growth rates for ariba I was disappointed because as a packaged software vendor there is a bunch of effort going into every sale. If they could outsource their technology (impossible in their niche) then they'd have something... maybe thats why Chuck Phillips has them as outperform only. Anyway I realized that Meekers model of extreme growth rates for internet companies has been accepted at this point, nobody really doubts it anymore and its starting to get applied to all kinds of other sectors including software. If you accept the revenue growth as attainable for the internets then that leaves profitability... a biggie but only half of the issues that existed last year when nobody bought into the growth.
