The fact that your grandmother had a room that nobody used indicates that she was a class cut above my grandmother ~ I was always in awe of people who had enough room that they were able to have a room that nobody used. My own grandmother (mother's mother) had the plasticized couch and chairs, but we used them. Golly, how unpleasant. She also had plastic covers over the lamp shades. Let's see, she had lamp bases that were a Nubian slave each, male and female, dressed in Arabian night style with gilt turbans and slippers, a gigantic spoon and fork set, and a collection of something or other, can't remember what, from Franklin Mint. It's all coming back to me. Yikes.
