Yesterday, we hoped the unblinded results would indicate a slam dunk. Today, we know that isn't so. As a result our stock will fetch $2-1/2 less per share than a day ago (but still more than twice what it sold for less than a year ago). Castello didn't cause our loss and neither did Ellen Martin. Let's not look for scapegoats. Nobody should have been in Xoma who couldn't afford a total loss. It alwas has been and remains a speculation. As they used to say long ago at Stateline casino on Tahoe's south shore, "If you can't pay, don't play."
