Starfire Minerals Inc. - Spanride Drilling Commences

Starfire Minerals Inc. confirms that drilling has commenced today on the Spanride Property, Porcupine Mining Division, Ontario.

Spanride exploration potential has it's geological setting of gabbro, tuff and breccia units associated with structural intersections near several gold showings, making the property a prime target for shear zone hosted gold deposits. The volcanics in some places on the property reach into the amphibolite facies and therefore may also host amphibolite facies iron formation gold deposits. The 500 meter drill program will test IP and MAG geophysical anomalies.

Highlight of Geikie Property.

Mineralized Zone

Diamond drilling of coincidental IP and MAG geophysical anomalies has intersected a mineralized sulphide zone as follows:

Hole G-1-99 Stringer type to massive sulphide from 100.4 to 120.4 meters including a stringer mineralization 100.4 to 109.7, feldspar porphyry from 109.7 to 112.1 and a stringer and massive sulphide from 112.1 to 120.4. Mineralization is dominated by Pyrite and Pyrrhotite with minor Chalcopyrite noted. The zone is intensely altered in both silica, chlorite and quartz carbonate. Assays pending.

Hole G-2-99 Was drilled 300 meters north along strike. The target was overshot but indications of similar mineralization are evident.

Hole G-3-99 Was drilled 300 meters south along strike. It is unlogged as yet but has similar mineralization as Hole G-1-99 noted from 89.0 to 106 meters.
