Network Solutions and Interliant Announce Strategic Alliance

Companies to Market Internet Identity and Hosting Services to Small And Medium-Sized Businesses

HERNDON, Va. and PURCHASE, N.Y., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSOL - news) and Interliant, Inc. (Nasdaq: INIT - news), a
leading application services provider (ASP) and Internet hosting company, today announced a strategic alliance to deliver enhanced Internet identity hosting
services for small and medium-sized businesses. Under terms of the agreement, the two companies will offer and promote their respective products and services to
each other's existing and potential customers. In addition, the two companies will explore joint development of a new rentable application.

This relationship combines the strength of Network Solutions' leading Web address registration services with Interliant's global Web and application hosting
services to support the growing number of small and medium-sized businesses now coming online. Currently, Interliant refers more than 10,000 Web addresses
monthly to Network Solutions, while Network Solutions is the world's largest domain name registrar. The announcement also marks an expansion of Interliant's
role as a member of the Network Solutions' Alliance Program.

Specific terms disclosed under today's strategic relationship between Network Solutions and Interliant include the following:

-- Interliant will continue to offer its customers the benefit of Network
Solutions' registration services in the .com, .net and .org top-level
domains to help them establish their unique Internet identities.

-- Interliant will provide access to the dot com directory(TM) through a
link on its Web site.

-- Network Solutions will promote Interliant's services on its Web site,
on its dot com directory and in a variety of other promotional
campaigns. Network Solutions will continue to refer customers to
Interliant as an Alliance Program member, and the two companies will
engage in joint sales efforts with the goal of offering those
customers the benefits of Interliant's hosting and both parties'
services.

-- Network Solutions will also expedite the registration process for
Interliant's customers and will provide dedicated advanced account
management for Interliant's customers with support 24 hours a day, 7
days a week.

-- Interliant and Network Solutions will explore joint development of a
rentable application offering that would allow small and medium-sized
businesses to leverage the power of an Internet-based hosted
application without the traditional infrastructure required to host
and administer one.
