Odd speculation? Time will tell.

The initial date of Samsung's stating the product was nearly a year ago, yet nothing since. Now they spec a product identical to Valence's. Not unreasonable that they had production problems, and want to get to market, and Hanil/Valence is positioned to get them there.

The article Roth posted with today's date now states they are breaking ground on a facility. They make no grand claims on production output of lithium-polymer, or dates they expect to have it available from their facility. If it was, you'd think they would.... just like Sony and Matsushita had claimed.

Given the difficulty every manufacturer has had in implementing the technology on a factory scale, which Valence has now succeeded in doing, it wouldn't surprise me at all a few years from now to see many of the lithium-polymer players licensing their technology from Valence. Samsung may be among them.

Meanwhile, they still want to be 'first to market,' as they boldly claimed many months ago... so we'll just see who's cell they use, for that step.
