It all depends on how bad these spreads get. It is VERY similiar to last fall when the Fed was ready hike rates and then the LTCM debacle made everyone risk averse, forcing the Fed to drastically lower rates (opposite of what they thought they would have to do), and flood the system with money(liquidity).

I think he would like to have that extra 1/4 point back in case so he has it available for later this fall, but I don't think he wants it so bad that he would be willing to exacerbate an already jumpy market.

But the options reminder is well noted. Might have to sell some covered calls on a position and collect some easy money.
