Kash this is all rumor at this point and I don't want to make a big deal about this but you are not being entirely forthright here. You quoted the lowest number and you misquoted it. It's 5-10%, not 3-10% as you posted. If SPECint95 improved by that amount it would outperform the Athlon at the same clock speed, and that's at only 100MHz FSB and only SDRAM, but you interpret that as "Coppermine sucks". The 133MHz FSB performs even better and still doesn't show what benefit might be had from DRDRAM. A possible 21%+ improvement (maybe more with DRDRAM) in FP is certainly significant as well. All this is of course completely unconfirmed and pure rumor at this time but I think your reaction is off the mark.
