FYI: AMAT declared that they are now in a "leadership position" in Ion Implant. I am long AMAT ... but, do they have to make stuff up on the call like that? How would you define leadership? 14% of the Bookings versus 40%(VSEA) and 36%(ETN)? The QUANTUM now reigns supreme across all energies and currents? Huh? ... strange lack of support for their statements ... when pressed about new products in the Medium Current and High Energy Segments ... the answer was that they were shipping a unit for evaluation in the Fall ... capable of both ... once the bugs get worked out ... sounds like they are trying to achieve the implant company's Holy Grail ... why not do just produce a machine that does High Current, Medium Current, and High Energy ... all in one small footprint ... with great beam purity ... with great particulate control ... with industry-leading cleanliness ... with 400+ WPH throughput at 300mm ... that can make 4 McFlurries simultaneously ... with the Oreo Cookie pieces perfectly dispersed throughout the delicious iced-dairy-product ... with an order of SuperSize Fries ... --Duker
