I went to the H&Q Biotech conference six months ago. QLTI was one of the companies I was itching to short. I heard their presentation and, guess what?--I and my two colleagues (one of them a biotech Ph.D.) walked away believers. Not believers enough to buy <g>, but believers enough to steer clear of shorting.

I grant you that the stock is absurdly expensive and the concept sounds wacky, but you need to check the phase trials data before you borrow the shares.

If you want to short it strictly on a valuation basis, that's fine. Just don't short it on a junk science basis.
