Not likely. It is much more likely that if advanced civilizations did exist they were right here on Earth. There is evidence -- ignored by archeologists because it does not fit in with current theories -- and much of it is in the basements of the world's great natural history museums collecting dust. Things like machined, aluminum alloy screws discovered back in the 1800s and found among artifacts dating back 15,000 - 20,000+ years ago. And other anomalous artifacts evidencing a high technology preceding what we term the "prehistoric era." Add to that the fact that the earliest cave paintings were generally more sophisticated and as time went on the later examples became much cruder, and it creates the picture that survivors of a great catastrophe were struggling against the elements after losing their technological base and even as they lived knowledge was being lost. Only much later (thousands of years) was it rediscovered again.

One striking bit of evidence of a nuclear war that may have taken place almost 20,000 - 25,000 years ago exists in what is now the Gobi desert. In some parts of the desert the sand was turned into green glass, the same phenomena that was seen on Bikini Island when the H-Bomb was tested there. Natural sand turns into green glass only under extreme heat, such as that created by thermonuclear reactions. No volcanic activity is, or ever was, in the area, so that must be ruled out.
