Utterly fascinating and mystifying!

But the "evidence" is still not overwhelmingly convincing yet.
Why is so little or no credit given to the advanced and sophisticated ancients?

Just as Piltdown Man was an elaborate archaeological hoax, it is understandable that the "evidence" you cited may be feared to be hoaxes, too, by the skeptical. Or it may be that for modern man it is somewhat embarrassing to admit his inventions had been anticipated long, long ago!

I recall reports of what appeared to be ancient voltaic cells or electrochemical cells having been found on archaeological sites in Mesopotamia, and of a glass crystal skull and a metal bottle with a screw top having been discovered in the Mayan ruins. Are these genuine relics of the past?
