Sorry to hear about your grandmother. (I do not know how to say better in English). The SDI spin-off for pure science (astronomy) and for communications technology is great. Otherwise I thought it is more science-fiction than useful. Was surprised to hear recently that a working missile defence system for small countries is asserted. However the Kosovo war has shown how easy it may turn out to defy highly specialised weapon systems. Main effectiveness against countries that are just at the beginning of rocket technology and do not have the resources to change their assault systems to circumvene the defence was already implied in my post, I think. Terrorists with anthrax bombs are not necessarily non-domestic ... Regards MNI.
