Prophet 21(R) Posts Record Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year 1999 Revenue

YARDLEY, Pa., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Prophet 21, Inc. (Nasdaq: PXXI - news), a leading provider of business software for customer-intensive wholesale distributors, today announced the Company recorded record levels of revenue for fourth quarter and fiscal year ending June 30, 1999. Riding a wave of sustained strong sales, Prophet 21 closed its fiscal year with revenue of $52 million.

Revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1999 were $17.2 million, compared to $14.9 million reported in the quarter one-year prior. Operating income was $2.2 million for the quarter, compared with $2.2 million in the corresponding quarter last year. Net income for the three months ending June 30, 1999 was $1.5 million or $0.39 per diluted share, compared to net income of $1.4 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, in the like period a year ago.

Revenues for fiscal year ending June 30, 1999 increased to $52 million, from $46.6 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $4.8 million as compared to $5.2 million for the comparable period last year. Net income for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999 was $3.4 million, or $0.85 per diluted share, compared to net income of $3.5 million, or $0.90 per diluted share, for the same period a year ago.
