Amid the chaos on the Yahoo Irid board were some posts apparently pasted from CBOE boiler plate that seemed to imply put owners of halted stocks at time of expiration might be S out of L. Message seemed to be that you can't exercise if stock is halted, and that there was no recourse. I'm not sure that's right (sure doesn't seem fair) but that seemed to be the upshot.
