But can you exercise them if you don't own the stock already (as would be the case with most Irid bears that bought puts). Somebody pointed out on the Yahoo board that it shouldn't be that hard to buy the stock from private party (or out of a broker's inventory?) to enable an exercise, even though the stock's not traded on the exchange.

It's also just curiosity for me, but very interesting.
