Because they are not paid handsomely Ike. They are only paid in stock which vests over 4 years. So anybody hiring on today would have to believe in amazon to get any money out.

Even more so with the vendors that sell to Amazon. I know all the supply chain software vendors consider Amazon to be the #1 prize as a potential customer. They look at the long term prospects and if a company doesn't have any... they don't go in.

The point is you can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all the time. If the amazon site stopped evolving or things just stopped moving at Amazon I'd be a little concerned but so far they are outproducing everybody in the industry.

I was a little concerned when they halted all that advertising though... and I do believe they halted it completely, but because it was such an awful promotion maybe they just decided to pull it and put together something a little better (I hope so) for Xmas.

BTW for people that think the nets will rise here etrade looks kind of interesting doesn't it... its beaten down
