Mr. Bernie Ashe reports
AIT has been awarded a $500,000 contract to provide centralized passport issuance systems for the
islands of Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man. AIT's GenIE software will be at the heart of the three
systems, which are expected to produce a total of up to 30,000 passports per year.
The islands are self-governing but have a special relationship with the United Kingdom, which is
responsible for their defence and foreign affairs. As such, they are required to produce passports of
similar quality and security levels as those issued by the U.K. Passport Agency. GenIE will provide this
complex functionality, but without sacrificing the ease of use required for user acceptance in a smaller
issuance environment.
"We're very pleased with this deal," said Bernie Ashe, president and chief executive officer of AIT.
"This is another endorsement of our new GenIE software product by a strategically important
customer."
About GenIE
GenIE is a software application that integrates digital imaging, workflow and document management for
the production of virtually any secure document, including passports and visas.
