LOL...I guess its all in what one knows...I thought ASND, XYLN and FORE were much easier calls - all had long been rumored, and once ASND went we )in the IT industry) knew it was only a matter of time until XYLN, FORE, CS and COMS go....(FORE had multiple offers)

COMS is a case where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Unless the board is able to articluate value and profits as is, it is only a matter of time until they have to spinoff, sell, break up in order for the value to be unlocked - But you are looking at a company with a PE of 22 (In an industry where the average is 50), a huge insatlled base (number 2 networker in the world), tons of cash (thats their problem - cash cows are low margin and they have not convcerted cash into high octane aquisitions ala cisco), but with 5 voice telcos still needing data solutions and only a few left - they have pieces those folks wpould want...they need to sell the cash cow low margin busuness to a company where growth rate is less important than profits and rid themselves of that boat anchor
