That's what I thought. Until I heard she's an accountant, and the data is people's tax returns going back about 6 years. <g>

The backup program she used was Microsoft Backup...she just ran the PIF file that was located in the Applications Window under 3.1. I can try, but I have a feeling that copying that program to the 98 box won't fly. Windows will probably say it's from an older version, yadayadayada. I shall try all the same.

Thanks a lot for the help. I'll let you know how we solve it.
