The market has the look of the "Nifty Fifty" era of the early '70s, before the nasty '73 bear. Back then a small group of high p/e favorites kept the averages up while there was deterioration in the broader market.

The Japanese had a "twin bubble", both real estate and stock market. We don't have that.

Valuation of the broad market is high. P/E of the S&P is something like 27. I don't think it has ever been at these levels before, much less stayed at them.

Seems to me that more can go wrong than can go right; most everything already is right. I'm happier buying when no one wants stocks.
