This I can understand. We lost Josef on the GNET thread after the Datek link and he and the others who have left because of differences with Go2Net over the handling of SI will be sorely missed. SI is nothing more but the sum of its members and their relationships to each other, we provide the content (however misguided and misconstrued) TLC said a lot in his post to the New SI board, in that this Datek link thing had put a real split between him and many of his closest friends.
Being a stock holder gives me a rather selfish perspective. I think that it will be almost impossible to change to being a profitable company and not offend some people. If they offend too many people, of course, they will have destroyed the very value that they wish to preserve. Its a delicate tight rope walk. I've not been around so long that I've gotten attached to the old SI.... I tend to be attracted by change, even while realizing it frequently destroys things that you love. Thank you for clarifying for me what might be the real problem with my posts.
